Position:
As a product technical lead, you will provide guidance, leadership and support within a small, niche team of developers who are developing products at enterprise level. You will understand the needs of each client and ensure that each product is designed to the exact needs of every client.
Not only will you lead this team, but you should also be prepared to code alongside your developers to ensure full consistency throughout. This is the part of the job where you will provide technical mentor-ship and expertise to your team. You will be a well-respected member of this team with full coverage throughout the entire project.
Provide vision and set the direction for the team of talented developers to motivate them, provide guidance and promote a positive culture for the success of the team.
Own the end to end delivery and timeline of features including design, development and testing.
Keeping up to speed with fast paced technical landscape and recommending/implementing new technologies where applicable.

The chosen individual will work out of the Contour Software Lahore resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Job responsibilities:


Responsible for technical tasks of development team to support the delivery of a Project/Product Roadmap delivery
Responsible for the design and implementation of features in line with the functional and non-functional requirements.
Champion software design and adherence to best practices in development, coding standards and unit testing
Mentor, guide and grow development team members by passing on personal experiences and knowledge
Utilises domain/product knowledge to develop solutions to complex technical challenges
Owner of project environments and data setup, supported by technical specialists
Owner of release process
Controls development quality on Project, Owner of CM and PR processes for Project or Product Roadmap delivery
Key POC for AMT/client technical requests/queries on project
Lead/perform triage of defects/incidents during Testing, and liaise with the Development teams
Working with the offshore delivery team
Perform the configuration and deployment of development solutions into the production environment where required
Produce training materials and deliver training to customer end-users and/or trainers
Support the planning and execution of production deployments and go-lives
Lead/perform triage of defects/incidents during Post Implementation/Early life support and liaise with the Development teams to resolve queries/defects/incidents.

Job qualifications:
Essential:


A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or an equivalent qualification in another technical field.
Very strong Java programming background including Enterprise Java (e.g., JAX-WS, JDBC, EJB3, JMS)
At least two year's industrial experience using Scala.
Confident in authoring and analysing SQL with proficiency in RDBMS design (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL)
Attentiveness to performance and efficiency when developing applications in a multi-core environment.
Application Server experience (e.g., JBoss, IBM WebSphere Application Server or SAP NetWeaver Web AS)
Self-motivated and works well under pressure
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to suggest technical solutions to problems where required
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Interviewing skills/technique
Good listening and communication skills (oral and written)
Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills.
Able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to provide examples of dealing with people and building relationships at all levels
The ability to take ownership and deliver results

Desirable:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Working in an Agile & Waterfall software development processes.
Experience of working with an Offshore team
Experience in webservice development using Java and/or Scala based technologies.
Ability to author UNIX scripts and navigate a Unix environment comfortably.
